Filmmaker Anindgita Dasgupta Shatters Linguistic Barriers with New Viral Hindi Single, “Babuyaa na baan paye megastar”

MUMBAI, INDIA – June 11, 2026 – Mumbai-based filmmaker and producer Anindgita Dasgupta has unveiled her latest musical project, a vibrant and thought-provoking Hindi single titled “Babuyaa na baan paye megastar.”

The release marks a bold creative pivot, moving away from her previous English-language music videos —Drama fame gossip and Baby I was hypnotized—to embrace the linguistic richness and cultural depth of Hindi.

Since its release, the track has become quite popular resonating deeply with audiences across a diverse demographic spectrum. By merging high-energy, rhythmic production with a satirical narrative, Anindgita has deftly cemented her reputation who refuses to be confined by labels or languages.

The inspiration behind this shift was born from Anindgita’s personal observations that sometimes regarding the perception of language in India. She notes a troubling trend where English proficiency is often falsely equated with elitism or superior intelligence, leading to the intentional sidelining or discouragement of Indian languages which is unfortunate .Though most  elite give honour to regional languages and try to set a bench mark that our Indian languages are equally  respectable , still some people  think that  English is only spoken language of elite class.

“In India, some equate English proficiency with status and look down upon those who fumble. Conversely, if someone struggles with an Indian language, they are often treated with indifference or dismissiveness,” she observes. “My work is to overcome these biases with positivity. I want to showcase that it is not that English means ‘elite’ and Hindi means ‘mass.’ English is respectable language , but other regional languages  are  also equally respectable .  Music is meant for enjoyment, and language cannot—and should not—define it. Those who try to define music by the language in may need to consider unlearning those biases.”

Anindgita views music as a universal communication medium, emphasizing that language should be a bridge for connection rather than a barrier.

“Music is a communication medium to connect people; language is an empowerment to it, not a barrier,” says Anindgita. “If a song’s melody or lyrics can touch your heart, the lyrics find their meaning. While lyrics are vital, the essence of music transcends grammar and vocabulary. In an age where global connectivity is at our fingertips, listeners are more than capable of appreciating art in any tongue, provided the emotion behind the melody is authentic” she added.

Produced under Anindgita’s banner, The Aani Entertainment, “Babuyaa na baan paye megastar” is both a commercial, rhythmic triumph and a narrative-driven piece. Beneath the soothing, light-hearted melody lies a profound, razor-sharp commentary and the pitfalls of hollow ambition.

This track acts as a  mirror   to expose the syndrome of bloated ego of a fictitious character “the wannabe megastar". It is a scathing satire that targets the obvious, often painful, disconnect between “entitlement” and “actual ability.” The title serves as a biting jab, stripping away all pretence to reveal the desperate insecurity beneath the surface. Through a relentless, driving beat, Anindgita catalogues the absurdity of those who chase the trappings of success—the clothes, the posturing, the performative swagger—while lacking the substance to sustain it.

It is arguably the most "hard-hitting" of her works to date because it touches on an universal frustration: the exhaustion of watching mediocrity demand worship. The song is not just singing; it is an act of exposure, revealing the fraudulence at the heart of the modern pursuit of status.

Anindgita emphasizes that the film industry is often viewed as a "dream world," but she cautions that the difference between a dream and reality is the willingness to embrace  the struggle.

“Stars live in a dark sky,” Anindgita says . Further  Anindgita explains, “Stardom and the darkness of struggle are inseparable. A lot of people want stardom but don’t want  to take the dark side of  the stardom, which is not practical , here dark side means struggle and that struggle starts from one’s inner side , some people don’t believe in  their  own ability rather rely on other’s perception. For fame they are coming in this film industry, but all famous people only do one thing that is unconditional hard work without any fail , for that they  become  famous .But some  people without understanding their  capability   obsess with fame and some other people around them try to take advantage out of this and hence another  self-created struggle starts in their lives. This song is a message that life is a journey, not a competition. If one cannot fulfil a specific dream, they should have the courage to shift their focus and find what they truly excel at. By doing so, one can  become the ‘megastar’ of their own life. It is about personal responsibility and the courage to change one's path rather than mourning a failure that was never meant to be.”

The reception to “Babuyaa na baan paye megastar” has been immediate and encouraging. The audio version is already gaining popularity, with listeners promising repeat plays and anticipating the upcoming official music video.

By refusing to let language define the limits of her creativity, Anindgita continues to establish herself as a filmmaker and music producer dedicated to storytelling that bridges gaps in culture and perception.

Under The Aani Entertainment, her work continues to challenge norms, proving that true artistic excellence speaks directly to the heart. Anindgita hopes that her ‘Babuyaa na baan paye megastar’  will help people find their true calling’ and they will succeed in their ‘honest’ pursuits in life..
